George A. Muck Memorial Scholarship


Criteria:

Members or regular attendees of First United Methodist Church of Belvidere who is pursuing additional education. Applicants may be current high school seniors, current college students or adults returning to college.

Deadline March 1


Background:

In memory of Dr. George A. Muck, this scholarship is awarded every year to a memeber of First United Methodist Church, Belvidere, Rockford. Dr. Muck received his Ph.D. in Dairy Science in 1962 from the University of Illinois. His entire career was spent at Dean Foods Company, serving as Vice President of Research and Quality Assurance for 32 years. Dr. Muck nurtured young people by helping them fully realize their potential, and mentoring them to become all that they could be.

George Muck was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and University of Illinois Illini fan and enjoyed showing shorthorn cattle with his children and grandchildren.


Application Instructions:

To apply for this scholarship, you must complete an online application and submit a packet of additional materials in hard copy.  Both of these components MUST be RECEIVED by the March 1st deadline. 

The scholarship packet requires your school counselor, registrar or principal to verify your academic information so be sure to allow sufficient time to submit the application.  Incomplete and late applications will not be accepted.
