Charles Lee Anderson Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: Rock Valley graduate or Sycamore High School graduating senior who will enter a college or university to pursue a degree in education; must demonstrate optimism, determination and love of neighbor as exemplified by Dr. Anderson's life.

Richard L. Bernardi Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: An individual attending or planning to attend Rock Valley College, who is committed to completing a bachelor degree at an accredited college or university and demonstrates enthusiasm and leadership. Applicant must have a GPA of at least 2.0.

Criteria: Female graduating senior from Boone or Winnebago county planning to enter the teaching profession.

Joe Carnes Scholarship

Criteria: Graduating senior at Crystal Lake South High School with a GPA of at least 3.0 who has financial need and has been involved in school, community and/or church activities.  Open to all majors, but preference given to applicants pursuing degrees in aviation-related fields, educational fields or public/community service fields.

Harry H. and Floy B. Chapin Scholarship

Criteria: Graduating senior from Durand, Dakota or Pecatonica High School, must frequent businesses in Durand, rank in top 15% of graduating class and plan to attend a recognized college or university.

Community Foundation Scholarship

Criteria: Graduating senior, resident of Winnebago county, 2.75 or higher GPA, and shows financial need. (Financial need is defined as having an EFC of less than 3,000 for this scholarship.) May attend a college, university or trade school. Renewable for four years as long as criteria are met.

Margaret T. Craig Community Service Scholarship

Criteria: High school graduate under the age of 23 or a graduating senior with a permanent address in Winnebago County planning to pursue a two or four-year degree at an accredited college, university or trade school who demonstrates, through their community involvement, a strong commitment to improving the quality of life for people in their school, community and county. Minimum GPA of 2.75.  Students may reapply for this scholarship in subsequent years.

William R. Durham Drama/Theater Scholarship

Criteria: High school graduate or graduating senior with a permanant address within Winnebago or Boone county with a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale who plans to attend an accredited four year college or university to obtain an M.A. or B.A..  Applicant must intend to teach theater or work professionally as a performer or technician in theater and maintain a GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 while receiving the award.

Roger L. Ekstrom Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: Guilford High School graduating senior, male or female, has a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, who is a member of the Guilford Golf Team.  Student plans to attend a college or university.

John Flynn Memorial Scholarship

Criteria:
Graduating Pecatonica High School senior who is pursing higher education. Applicant must have a GPA of at least 2.0/4.0 and have been involved in community service. Although not required, preference may be given to candidates with an agricultural background.

Louis J. Franchini Rockford Police Department Scholarship

Criteria: High school graduate currently enrolled in an accredited law enforcement program or a high school senior who plans to pursue a career in law enforcement. Applicant must reside in Winnebago County.

William J. Galaway Library and Information Science Scholarship

Criteria: Individual must possess a bachelors degree and be employed either full or part-time in a public library in Boone, Winnebago, Ogle or Stephenson Counties and must have been accepted for graduate studies in an American Library Association (ALA) program in Library and Information Science.

Susan Kay Munson Gilmore Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: Graduating senior or former graduate of a Guilford or Mendota Township High School, C or better GPA, financial need, pursuing a vocational career.

Nettie and Jesse Gorov Scholarship

Criteria:
Graduating senior, current college student or non-traditional student who is or plans to attend an accredited two or four year school. Applicant must exhibit character, scholastic achievement and financial need. (Financial need is defined as having an EFC of less than 15,000 for this scholarship.)

Karen Harter Recruitment Grant

Criteria:
A female Rockford College or Northern Illinois University sophomore or junior student who is pursuing a career in secondary math or science education. This award is offered by Zeta Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma.

Amber Huber Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: A four-year scholarship for a graduating senior female from Byron High School who has participated in the Byron High School girls track program and/or Byron High School Cheerleading program for at least three seasons including her senior year. Minimum GPA 5 on an 11 point scale (C average). Awarded only in even-numbered years.

International Management Council (IMC) Scholarship

Criteria:
Graduating senior residing in Winnebago County who is pursuing a degree in business. Applicant must have a GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 and have been active in community service.

Ashley E. Ketcher Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: Graduating Auburn High School senior in the CAPA program who has an interest and prior experience in the performing arts and a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.  Student must have financial need and have overcome adversity/obstacles in life.

Buster Lindsay Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: Graduating senior athlete from Jefferson High School, who has participated in high school sports for a minimum of three years including the senior year, has a 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA and is planning to attend a two-or a four-year college or university.

Kari Lotko Memorial Scholarship Fund

Criteria: Graduating female, high school senior who is a Boylan High School Soccer Team member and/or a Sirens Soccer Team member. Applicant must be community service minded, active in her faith and have a GPA of at least 2.5.

Keith Maffioli Scholarship

Criteria: Graduating seniors from a Boone, Stephenson, Ogle or Winnebago County School who has a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and shows financial need. (Financial need is defined as having an EFC of less than 10,000 for this scholarship.) May attend a college (including technical, business and community colleges) or university.

May-Cassioppi Scholarship

Criteria: A former Guilford High School swimmer and/or diver (including graduating H.S. seniors), exhibits character traits of strength,  discipline, leadership, teamwork and loyalty.  Applicant demonstrates financial need and plans to/is attending a college or university, junior college or trade school.  Recipients may reapply.

George A. Muck Memorial Scholarship

Criteria:
Members or regular attendees of First United Methodist Church of Belvidere who is pursuing additional education. Applicants may be current high school seniors, current college students or adults returning to college.

Paul and Ruth Neidhold Business Scholarship

Criteria: Harvard High School senior, GPA of 2.0 or higher, planning to pursue education or training in a business field.

Northwest Community Center Scholarship

Criteria: Graduating senior or a graduate from a Rockford high school who has a GPA of at least 2.0, demonstrates financial need and plans to attend a college, university or trade school.  Applicants must be residents of northwest Rockford or have a history of involvement with Northwest Community Center as either a volunteer or participant. Past recipients may reapply.

Katharine H. Obye Award

Criteria:
A female who is graduating from a public high school within Boone or Winnebago county who plans to teach at any level or in any field. Applicant must have done outstanding work on a high school publication staff such as newspaper or yearbook. This award is offered by Zeta Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma.

William Pigott Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: Graduating senior from McHenry, Boone or Winnebago county majoring in engineering.

Gary S. Wilmer RAMI Music Scholarship

Criteria: Graduating senior from Boone or Winnebago County who has a GPA of at least 2.5, plans to pursue a degree in music performance, education or composition and is actively involved in school or community musical groups. Students must be nominated by a music teacher.

Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity College Scholarship

Criteria:  An individual planning to attend an accredited junior college, college or university. (Vocational training programs are not eligible for the scholarship.)  Applicant must be a current homeowner resident or dependent of homeowner resident of a home built by Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity, Inc. and must be residing in home at time of scholarship application. Applicants and recipients may re-apply.

Rockton Lions Club Scholarship AND Dr. Loomis/Rockford Lions Club Scholarship

Rockton Lions Club Criteria: Any graduating high school senior residing within District #207 who ranks in the top 1/3 of their class, has financial need, has a stated career goal and is involved in community service through community activities.  Additional consideration may be given to students who are involved with Lions Club activities.


Dr. Loomis Criteria: Graduating Hononegah High School senior who ranks in the top 1/3 of their class, has financial need, has a stated career goal and is involved in community service through community activities.  Additional consideration may be given to students who are involved with Lions Club activities.

Deborah Jean Rydberg Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: Graduating female senior athletes at Guilford High School who have a C+ or better GPA and plan to attend college.

Criteria: An individual who has been accepted into or is enrolled in an American Dental Association accredited dental or dental hygiene program or a graduate post-doctoral program in the United States. Must show evidence of financial need.

Criteria:
A female Rockford College sophomore or junior who is pursuing a degree in education. This award is offered by Zeta Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma.

Ernest and Charlene Stachowiak Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: A graduating senior or current college student with a permanent address within Boone, Ogle, Stephenson or Winnebago county with a gpa of at least 2.5/4.0. Student must demonstrate financial need.

Criteria:
African-American female high school senior, minimum GPA of 2.5 who has been accepted at a two-or-four year college or university.  Applicant must have financial need and be a resident of Winnebago County or a relative of Dr. Gussie M. Ware.

Criteria: A male or female resident of Ogle, Winnebago, Boone, Stephenson, or Rock County who is attending or plans to attend a college, university, or trade/technical school. Applicant must demonstrate how their course work will impact manufacturing technology in the region.

Chief David G. Bailey Fire Science Scholarship

Criteria: Applicants must be firefighters currently serving in one of the following areas:  Cherry Valley Fire Protection District; M.A.B.A.S. Division 8 Fire Departments both primary & secondary members or Kirkland, IL & Freeport, IL rural and city fire departments  Funds must be used for tuition for an accredited, sanctioned or certified course relating to fire science and/or emergency medical services training and may include seminars and workshops.  The applicant's commanding officer must approve courses as being pertinent to the needs of the department. Randall A. Blank Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: Graduate of a public or private school within the boundaries of Rockford School District #205 who has declared a major of police science or a similar field and will be in the second, third or fourth year at a college or university next year.

Helen R. Finley-Loescher Scholarship

Criteria: Freeport High School student showing academic achievement, self-motivation, and an interest in the arts who has exhibited artistic talent by participating in the High School arts curriculum and who wishes to pursue further education in the fine arts.

L. H. Geddes Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: Open to officers in the Rockford Police Department and Division #16 of the Illinois Division of Criminal Investigation to continue their education.

La Voz Latina Scholarship

Criteria: High school graduates of Hispanic origin who reside in Winnebago County, are enrolled in a post-secondary education program, and have financial need.

Leopold Education Project Scholarship

Criteria: Graduating high school senior or high school graduate who are enrolled or planning to enroll in full-time course of study at an accredited four-year college or university in a natural resource field such as: fish or wildlife biology, conservation or management, air quality, botany, conservation education, ecology, forestry, hydrology, soils, pollution control or water quality. Student must have a GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 and have their permanent address in Boone, Cook, Dekalb, DuPage, Kane, Lake, Mchenry, Will or Winnebago counties.

Mark A. Reid Memorial Grant

Criteria: Graduating senior at Oregon High School, demonstrating enthusiasm and optimism, who has actively participated in music and/or drama, exhibits leadership in the school, encourages and supports other students and is actively involved in extracurricular activities.

Rockford Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: Graduating senior from Winnebago or Boone County pursuing a two or four year degree. Awards will be based on academic achievement and financial need.

Senior Memorial Scholarship

Criteria:
Graduating senior from a Rockford School District No. 205 high school, attending a college, university or higher institution of learning.  Each high school principal in District 205 shall nominate students based on financial need and academic potential.

Applicants must be nominated by their high school principal.



Bonnie Sorenson Scudder Scholarship

Criteria: For female seniors at Harvard High School who have exhibited an interest in women's physical education and who wish to pursue a degree in women's physical education.

Joan Stonecipher Scholarship

Provides a one-year full scholarship (unlimited classes for two seminars, September to May) at the School of Rockford Dance Company. By audition only.
