This week, we bid a heartfelt farewell to Jennifer Smith, our Engagement Director, who is moving on to a new adventure after dedicating seven wonderful years to CFNIL. Her last day with the foundation will be Friday, September 19.

 She has infused our events, initiatives, and communications with her creativity, passion, and unwavering dedication. If you've ever wondered who crafted those memorable designs or brought our vision to life, it's been Jennifer every time! She was the driving force behind the relaunch of the Excalibur & Excelsior Awards and transformed CFNIL’s Nonprofit Happy Hour into a cherished annual gathering that the nonprofit community looks forward to. Her impact extends far beyond her professional achievements—Jennifer has been a true community leader, volunteering her time with organizations like the City of Rockford's Zoning and Liquor and Tobacco Boards, I Bike Rockford, and the Camerata Emanon choral group.

Her community involvement earned her the Spirit of Caring Award by Crusader Community Health in 2021 and a well-deserved spot on the 40 Under 40 list by the Greater Rockford Chamber of Commerce in 2019. While we are sad to see her go, we are immensely grateful for her contributions.
