Essay

Taking into consideration the background and criteria of this scholarship, why are you the best candidate to receive it? You may want to discuss your past academic or personal achievements, leadership skills, involvement in WGC activities, or obstacles you’ve overcome.

Criteria

Applicant must:

- Reside within the West Gateway Coalition (WGC) boundaries, currently defined as Kilburn Avenue, Pierpont Avenue, Preston Street, and Auburn Street.
- Have a current unweighted GPA of 2.0/4.0. Preference will be given to students with lower GPAs.
- Preference will be given to applicants who provide a reference from a current member of the WGC Board of Directors that discusses the applicants' participation in WGC activities.

This scholarship was created by the West Gateway Coalition, a neighborhood association on the west side of Rockford.
