Please note: Proceeds for the 1st Annual Daniel James McMahon Golf Outing will benefit the esophageal cancer research at Cancer Research Institute, a nonprofit dedicated to transforming cancer care through groundbreaking immunotherapy research.
Purpose: To provide support to charitable organizations as recommended by the committee in memory of Dan McMahon for music and recreation in the Rockford area, as well as for cancer research and patient support nationwide.

The Dan’s Heartstrings McMorial Fund was created to celebrate the life and legacy of Dan James McMahon, a cherished Rockford musician, producer, and community connector who bravely fought esophageal cancer and passed away at the age of 41 on September 19, 2024. Known for composing music for the 2012 Academy Award-winning documentary Undefeated, leading the two-time RAMI Award-winning, The Midwest Sound, and founding member and lead guitar player for Miles Nielsen and The Rusted Hearts, Daniel’s passion for music and compassion touched countless lives.
